So anyway, I just got back from an dusk ultimate frisbee game at Legion. It totally brought back memories of playing during WASL week. Love the friz! Anyway, it was so great seeing some people I haven't seen in a while.

Alright, so today I was cleaning my room because it's really messy. And it's normally not this messy, but last week I took out all the drawers trying to do a massive reorganization of it and ... kinda quit without the job fully complete. So, after stubbing my toe on my plastic drawers for the 5th time while lunging for my window, I finally was like, "Okay... this has really got to get cleaned up." And this isn't any normal cleaning room thing. This is like "hey, throw away stuff that I've been accumulating for however many years." So, for me, this was a HUUGE job. Because I don't throw stuff away. I mean, I had letters that my pen pal from 4th grade wrote to me. WHy do I need that? I had binders from my middle school days.... WHyyyy?? So, I'm throwing stuff away, but my brain keeps on going, "noo.. you might need this. blah blah blah." So, I had to call in reinforcements, (my mommy) so she could knock some sense into my pack ratting ways. That turned into THREE full plastic garbage bags full of crap... things I don't need, but for some odd reason keep. Then *turning point* my mom pulls up a drawer that is mainly full of bags from various stores. And she goes, "Baaags.. zee baags. Oooohh muuust keep ze baaags" (of course making fun of me... extreme form) And that is when I came to the realization and felt the need to say:
Hi, my name is Michelle and I am a pack rataholic. I've been packratting my whole life. It runs in the family, but that really is no excuse. My dad can't throw stuff away and my uncle buys property so he can find a place to store all his crap. And yes, I can throw things away, but then I just end up accumulating more things. It's a horrible problem, but I'm trying to fix it. I never knew it was that bad until I saw my mom's extreme form of me. I'm sorry for all of those people i have affected with this problem. I'll work hard to become more simplistic. I'll sober up.
But seriously, my uncle's REALLY bad. He has a freaking FIRE TRUCK!!! To put out fires, I guess? doesn't trust the fire department in his own town. If he were a girl, he'd be that one old lady character with newspapers stacked up, filling the rooms with a little pathway through the house, and it's all dusty and there's tons of cats. So, my fear is to become my uncle and somehow that translates for me into the crazy cat lady on The Simpsons. Ooh gosh that'd be horrible... HORRIBLY FUUNNY! Ooh nyuk nyuk nyuk. But seriously, pack ratting sucks. I'm just glad I caught the problem while I was still young.. and that I didn't get 10 cats or start a habit of stacking newspapers. Btw, mags are not the same.
*by the way, this is kinda a joke. I know i know... i'm not at my funniest. It usually kicks in around Nov- Feb.. sorry!*
